Our Other Materials

There are no secrets in any hessnatur material. All the trims and linings are made from 100% natural fibers, too, mostly cotton or silk. Our buttons are made from natural materials like ivory nut, wood, horn, or mother-of-pearl. Any metals we use for zippers, buckles and buttons are nickel-free and chrome-free. We don’t use any PVC or Teflon at all.

Only in rare cases, where a natural accessory is either not available or it would not be functional, is an exception made. One of these exceptions is the use of up to 8% elastane/spandex, which provides for the stretch in some lingerie and socks.  But we cover the elastane in cotton, so no synthetic fiber touches your skin.
