What Social Responsibility Means

We’re actually intimidated by the phrase “social responsibility”. It sounds rather lofty.  And that’s not what we are. Is it “social responsibility” when you teach your child to share precious possessions or when you visit a sick friend? We view our interactions with a sense of community. Because that’s all we are, really. A community of people, some in offices right next to ours, some farming fields in far off places, some in factories weaving fabric across the globe, some wearing our clothes.

They’re our children, our friends, whether we know them or not. And what they deserve from us is respect. For their differences, for their special needs, their expectations, their hopes, their futures.

hessnatur began with the simple promise to respect the planet and its people, to commit to helping people live in harmony with each other and with nature. It’s part of our mission. So whether you work for us or with us or purchase from us, we will always treat you with the same care we have for our own families. That’s our definition of social responsibility.
